Jill Ogai is a principal artist with The Australian Ballet. In December, she’s dancing the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in the ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. This is how she spends her weekends when she’s performing.

Friday afternoon | With the Saturday night performance coming up, I rehearse a few things in preparation. I’ll probably get a little physio and massage and then go home and cook something nutritious with my husband, Josh [Millar]. He adores the ballet and has been training for a marathon so it suits us both to have a lazy night in. We’re watching Shogun on Disney+. I think it’s my favourite show since Succession. It’s all about Japanese history and I’m half Japanese, so it’s very affirming and just a really great story. I’ll probably go to sleep around 10 or 10.30pm, which is early for me.
