The timing is terrible, but perfect for the world premiere in Melbourne of The Planet – A Lament, showing in mid-February at the Asia TOPA festival.
It comes at the tail end of an Australian summer marked by drought and bushfire catastrophe, a summer in which smoke haze put Melbourne and Canberra at the top of the rankings for the worst air quality in the world; a summer when Australia came face to face with the impact of climate change as the world watched in horror.
