It was 2001 and Russell Crowe was at Darcy’s Restaurant in Sydney’s Paddington, celebrating his best actor Oscar for Ridley Scott’s Gladiator.
Crowe and his group of friends, including Nicole Kidman, exploded into whoops and gasps when Crowe’s Oscar statuette punctured the restaurant’s plasterboard ceiling.
