A $1 million painting by the reclusive and eccentric Ian Fairweather stands out at Deutscher and Hackett’s sale next month, though it is unlikely to equal the top offering, a work from Charles Blackman’s much acclaimed Alice in Wonderland series carrying hopes of more than $1.5 million.

The pictures go under the hammer in Sydney on April 10.
