Samuel Marino possesses that rarest of voice types – a genuine male soprano. 

Were it not for the sequinned high heels, Samuel Marino could have passed for a 1970s disco lothario when he strode onto Sydney’s City Recital Hall stage this week.

The Bee Gees certainly would have loved his lilac silk suit. But then the 31-year-old Venezuelan opened his mouth to sing, and there emerged an ethereal sound that made Barry Gibb seem like a bass.
