Last picture show over for director Hollywood loved to hate
Peter Bogdanovich, whose films “The Last Picture Show” and “Paper Moon” were acclaimed before he suffered one of Hollywood’s most conspicuous falls from grace, has died.

New York | Peter Bogdanovich parlayed his love for Golden Age cinema into directing acclaimed films such as The Last Picture Show and Paper Moon, only to have his professional reputation tarnished in one of Hollywood’s most conspicuous falls from grace.
Bogdanovich died on Thursday (Friday AEDT) at his home in Los Angeles. He was 82. His daughter Antonia Bogdanovich confirmed the death but did not specify a cause.
