Winter festivals based around light shows are seemingly everywhere these days, but in its third year Adelaide’s Illuminate has established itself as one worth planning a getaway around.
The brainchild of returned Adelaidean curators Rachael Azzopardi and Lee Cumberlidge, Illuminate combines several ticketed light-and-sound installations running throughout July, alongside a cultural program (including a July 7 performance from Yothu Yindi) and free city-wide light displays running from Friday until July 23.
