Claude Monet hits the big screen
Hundreds of French impressionist masterpieces feature in a multi-sensory exhibition coming to Sydney.
Finding an exhibition of original Claude Monet paintings in Australia is like trying to find a needle in one of the French impressionist’s famous haystacks.
Sydney and Melbourne last saw overviews of his revolutionary works in 2009 and 2013 respectively. Water Lilies, Monet’s phosphorescent 1909 masterpiece, is scheduled to arrive at Brisbane’s QAGOMA in June as part of a loan from New York’s Metropolitan Museum Of Art – but good luck seeing it if you’re interstate.
