Australian Chamber Orchestra's Satu Vänskä is part of the revival of ACO Underground, the breakout ensemble jolting musicians out of their comfort zone.
When Satu Vänskä was 11, she broke her wrist and couldn’t play the violin for two months, giving her pause to consider what role she wanted music to play in her life.
“I thought, ‘I’m a little bit talented but I’m not a wunderkind’,” she says. “My parents were always telling me to practise. So I made the decision to do violin, but on my own terms.
