Virgin-Qatar tie-up could break Qantas’ grip on Canberra

Canberra Airport has put its weight behind the proposed tie-up between Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways, saying it would help strengthen choice for politicians and their staffers.

The peak body for Australia’s airports also backed the alliance but expressed reservations about the potential for it to limit code-share arrangements with other airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, on flights into Europe.
