Virgin boss Jayne Hrdlicka tells her team she still plans to go

Virgin Australia chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka has told senior managers at the airline that she does not intend to stay in her job despite the person most likely to succeed her withdrawing from the race last week.

The company took the unusual step on Friday of publicly ruling its chief customer officer, Paul Jones, out of contention to replace Ms Hrdlicka, who had announced her decision to leave Virgin almost a year ago.
