Airports have best month since pandemic hit
Australian aviation has had its best month since the pandemic started with just over 7.5 million travellers passing through the major east coast airports, but industry figures say there is a long way to go towards a full recovery.
Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce warned ticket prices would remain high – the elevated airfares are set to push it to a record underlying profit of up to $1.45 billion in the half – until jet fuel prices normalise.
