Major train network to grind to a halt in pay stand-off
A train network used daily by more than one million people in Sydney could be out of action for days because of industrial action, throwing the transport system in Australia’s most populous state into chaos.
The NSW government and the state branch of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union have been locked in a dispute for months, but it escalated on Tuesday when Transport Minister Jo Haylen announced no train services would run from Thursday until Sunday.
