Business owners looking to switch their company car fleets to electric vehicles – and snap up recently legislated generous fringe benefits tax breaks – have driven a sharp jump in inquiries, but leasing companies warn of months-long waits for popular models.
Labor’s deal with the crossbench to exempt low-and zero-emission cars from fringe benefits tax late last month could potentially save buyers more than $30,000.
