Brambles shows how to conquer inflation
Transport and logistics giant Brambles has shown that a combination of market clout and the ability to pass on soaring costs in timber and freight through its own price rises and surcharges was enough to offset runaway cost input inflation and lift profits and dividends.
Chief executive Graham Chipchase said pushing through robust price increases meant the company was not overly popular among customers, but it was careful to show them exactly how much its own raw materials costs had risen.
