Brambles parries CVC with ‘options’ as shares surge
Brambles, which operates a pool of 345 million wooden pallets, crates and containers in 60 countries, could be destined for private equity ownership and an exit from the ASX after 68 years as it strives to set up an auction after receiving a buyout proposal from CVC.
Shares in Brambles jumped by more than 11 per cent on Monday after it confirmed it was in talks with private equity group CVC about a potential takeover offer. The company has a sharemarket value of $15 billion and employs 12,000 people.
