TWU Airlines is not needed to keep flying to the regions
Not only is the nationalisation of Rex not required to maintain air services to regions, it is wrong in principle based on basic competition policy grounds.

During the global pandemic in 2020, Labor demanded the Morrison government bail out Virgin Australia to stave off bankruptcy. Then, when in government in 2023, Labor denied Qatar Airway’s application to add 28 extra flights into Australia to protect Qantas from greater competition on international routes.
