Telstra hires Deloitte to audit books, replacing EY after 25 years

Telstra has ditched longstanding auditor EY and hired Deloitte to oversee its financial books from July 1, citing “good governance” and its desire to use digital technology to reduce costs.

Telstra, which revealed thousands of job cuts in late May to help it meet cost-cutting targets, confirmed on Monday it had chosen Deloitte to provide statutory auditing services from July. EY has audited Telstra’s books since 1999.
