Telco profit squeeze shows no sign of ending

The telco industry was not hit nearly as hard as other industries by the pandemic. In fact demand for internet only increased during the lockdowns and work-from-home orders.
But long-term systemic issues are showing little sign of diminishing this year. The industry is mired in factors suppressing margins, resulting in an increasingly unsatisfactory return on invested capital.
