Mercedes’ former Formula 1 strategy director, James Vowles, hopes the Melbourne technology company Catapult that helped it dominate the sport will put Williams, his new team, back in the race.
Vowles is the man who first used the race software that will fill the screens of F1 teams and officials along the Australian Grand Prix pit lane this weekend.
