Test team enters echelon of greats after gripping series win
Australia’s men’s cricket team can stake a claim to being one of the country’s most successful, for the first time holding all major bilateral trophies, and the Test and one-day world championships, after an entertaining, unpredictable and occasionally intemperate series win over India.
Over six weeks, India lost its decade-long grip on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy gradually as Australia inched back from a massive loss in Perth, then suddenly in Sydney on Sunday as debutant Beau Webster and leading run-getter Travis Head crashed the home side to a rollicking win in front of a packed pink SCG crowd.
