Pony club, more events and Flemington rebrand: CEO’s plans for VRC

Flemington Racecourse could be renamed, run a pony club and open its stables to private horse owners as part of a major strategic plan to revive Victoria Racing Club’s fortunes and attract a new crowd of racegoers.

New VRC chief executive Kylie Rogers said her ambitions, known internally as the 2040 Master Plan, will allow the racing body to make money from events outside key race days such as the Melbourne Cup. She said her first major initiative would probably be unveiled early in the new year.
