Australian cricketers are weighing up playing through the Indian Premier League following Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s decision to pause commercial flights from India, which is being devastated by surging coronavirus infections and deaths.

About 30 Australian cricketers, coaches, training staff and commentators remain in India. The Australians are spread across a number of teams in the Twenty20 competition and are there under their own banner, rather than that of Cricket Australia.
