No site visits, no briefings: Games’ business case done in just weeks
Consultants who compiled the original business case for Victoria’s axed Commonwealth Games did not inspect venues or meet with relevant officials because they were given just three months to do their work and told that it was secret, a senior partner said.
Also on Tuesday, a senior public servant revealed that he received instructions via a superior from then-premier Daniel Andrews to not inform a cabinet minister who shared responsibility for the Games that they might be cancelled.
