The New South Wales town of Bathurst is forging ahead with plans to build a second race track at Mount Panorama and has Phillip Island's international motorcycle events firmly in its sights.
A second circuit at Mount Panorama has been in the works for a number of years but with support from the federal and NSW governments, the Bathurst City Council has now completed the initial planning and last month started the environmental approvals process.
