Rugby league hero Mal Meninga has been appointed the inaugural coach of the NRL’s Perth Bears, bringing an end to weeks of speculation.

The NRL confirmed on Friday that Meninga would leave his role as head coach of the Kangaroos to lead the Bears in the 2027 season.
