It took five board meetings to end the reign of Rugby Australia’s divisive chairman, Hamish McLennan, late last Sunday.
From homes in NSW, Queensland, and the ACT, a group of nervous rugby directors spent most of the weekend on Zoom, weighing up what to do with McLennan, who had received a letter from six rebel state member unions demanding his resignation late on Friday night.
