Grand prix has cost Victoria nearly $700m in the last decade
The Victorian government spent a record $102 million on hosting Melbourne’s 2024 Australian Grand Prix, taking the cost to taxpayers of subsidising the event to $700 million over the past decade.
The latest increase, from subsidies totalling $100.6 million in 2023, was revealed in the Grand Prix Corporation’s annual report tabled to parliament on Thursday.
