London | The rain fell in England on a summer’s Sunday night, and the indefatigable Italian football team rained on England’s parade.

The English had spent the weekend preparing to celebrate a massive win in the Euro 2020 championship final, hosted on home soil. But in the end, it was the Italians who rose – as they so often do on the soccer field – to the big occasion.
