Craig Foster is recounting a breakfast meeting with Foreign Minister Marise Payne in her parliamentary office only four days after the release of refugee footballer Hakeem al-Araibi from a Thai jail.
The soccer analyst and the man he now calls his "little brother" were in Canberra to thank Ms Payne and the Prime Minister for their efforts in helping break a 77-day impasse.
