It starts with the traditional singalong to Daryl Braithwaite’s classic hit Horses about 20 minutes before the big race. It’s corny as hell, but somehow perfect for Moonee Valley where the race is run – a down-to-earth track for racing purists that can feel miles away from Flemington's frippery.
