Aussies blitz first three days of Commonwealth Games

Team Australia has blitzed the first three days of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, winning 22 gold medals to stretch its lead over England and New Zealand.

The women’s rugby sevens team overturned a seven-point pool match loss to Fiji with a 22-12 victory over the Pacific side in the final. This saw the heartbreak of a 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games loss to New Zealand in extra-time quickly forgotten.
