Posties back the death of daily letter deliveries to keep jobs
The Communication Workers Union has signalled it will support a shake-up of Australia Post that includes the winding back of daily letter deliveries, to keep posties in “meaningful, gainful and secure employment”.
The Albanese government is poised to announce the changes as early as Wednesday, with Australia Post pushing to reduce letter deliveries to every two or three days per address, close some full-service post offices in city locations and allow stamp prices to drastically rise for business.
