US sports retailer Lids – the official licence partner for National Basketball Association merchandise – is opening five stores in Australia as it expands its international footprint.

Lids is well known in the US market selling more than 30 million hats to sport fans every year, and is backed by some high-profile names including rapper Robert Rihmeek Williams, better known as Meek Mill, the ex-boyfriend of singer Nicki Minaj.
