Coles and Jeff Kennett have been singled out for criticism over their compliance with the food and grocery code of conduct, but rivals Woolworths, Metcash and Aldi have no reason to feel complacent.
While retailers’ treatment of suppliers has improved immensely since the voluntary code of conduct was introduced in 2015, many of the behaviours and abuses that led to its implementation persist.
