Maggie Beer Holdings caps disastrous year as it slumps to $28m loss

Maggie Beer Holdings, the gourmet food producer named for one of Australia’s most famous cooks, has capped a tumultuous year during which it lost both its chief executive and chief financial officer by plunging to a $28.2 million annual loss.

The company, on whose board Ms Beer sits, said it would write down the value of its troubled upmarket milk and yoghurt business, Paris Creek, and Hampers & Gifts, the online gifting operation it acquired in 2021 for $40 million. On Friday, Maggie Beer Holdings said it was considering whether to sell Paris Creek.
