Jack Cowin to build $20m fake meat factory
Hungry Jack's founder Jack Cowin and CSIRO's $232 million Innovation Fund will lead the construction of a $20 million, Australia-first facility for processing grain legumes into alternatives to meat.
The factory will supply v2food, a new plant-based meat venture between the national science organisation, its Innovation Fund backed by institutional investors like Hostplus, and Cowin's Competitive Foods, the supplier and operator of more than 430 Hungry Jack's restaurants nationwide.
