Phil Bishop, the new chief executive of discount retailer The Reject Shop, wants to expand the store network from its current 367 outlets, and become closer to its customers.

He will start as the new boss of the retail chain on July 11 and be paid a base salary of $650,000, with short and long-term incentives in place to bump that up provided he engineers improvements in the business.
