Booktopia ponders new capital raising to fund acquisitions

Online book retailer Booktopia is considering raising new capital, less than 10 months after its $45 million December 2020 initial public offering, to fund acquisitions in Australia and overseas.

Co-founder and chief executive Tony Nash said the bookseller was conducting due diligence on several businesses and prepared to spend between $10 million and more than $100 million on the right deals to accelerate the company’s growth.
