The chairman of vitamins group Blackmores has taken a swipe at largest shareholder and former chairman Marcus Blackmore over whether he was adhering to the principles of “respect” inside the company prior to his departure in late 2020.
Chairman Anne Templeman-Jones laid out some extra context in a letter to shareholders in a simmering boardroom spat that has been running for weeks as Marcus Blackmore backed George Tambassis, a former president of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, who was rejected twice by Blackmores when it was searching for new directors.
