Whenever I hear of another law firm listing, I am reminded of the fable of the goose and the golden egg.

Just as the cottager and his wife make the mistake of killing the goose to find more gold, the lure of a financial windfall upon listing is so irresistible some law firms are seemingly abandoning everything to attain it.
