The proposed restructure provides a platform for the embattled firm to move forward. But answering the basic questions about the tax leak scandal remains essential to truly draw a line under it.

Embattled PwC Australia still has a lot of work to do to deal decisively with its owner-partners’ poor decision-making over the appalling tax leak scandals, and to be fully accountable and transparent.

But the moves over the weekend to perform radical structural surgery also provide some way of moving forward that could help end the political jihad against it and the sense that the firm’s operations are doomed to collapse in Australia.
