PwC chiefs play pass the parcel
Accountability is a flexible concept when it comes to pinning blame for the tax leaks scandal.
Neil ChenowethSenior writerThe one thing PwC witnesses could agree on at the consultants inquiry was that the firm’s tax leaks scandal wasn’t anybody’s fault. Or at least, it wasn’t their fault.
Under a grilling by Greens senator Barbara Pocock, PwC Australia’s new chief executive Kevin Burrowes admitted that the 71 adverse references to former unnamed CEOs in the review by Ziggy Switkowski actually referred to Luke Sayers, who ran the firm from 2012 to April 2020, and his successor Tom Seymour. Who knew?
