Bank details of lawyers, judges at risk in cyberattack

Sensitive financial details of some West Australian lawyers have been taken in a cyberattack on the state’s legal regulator, with hackers threatening to publish 300 gigabytes of stolen data unless a ransom is paid.

In an email to practitioners, the Legal Practice Board said correspondence containing bank account details for practices had been taken by the group, which was subsequently identified as the Dire Wolf ransomware gang.
