A zinc miner has failed in trying to reduce its government royalty payments by claiming $29 million in expenses – including for boat management fees despite those services not having commenced.
The rejection was handed down in Queensland’s Supreme Court on Thursday in a case pitting the Commissioner of State Revenue against Century Mining, a subsidiary now of Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed Sibanye-Stillwater.
