West Australian Premier Mark McGowan has ordered an "urgent review" of how the Perth Mint evaluates its suppliers and flagged tighter controls after revelations the refinery was buying gold from a convicted killer.
Mr McGowan has asked the Mint's chairman, Sam Walsh, to lead the investigation and focus on the environmental, social and governance standards of its suppliers.
