Perth Mint facing London sanctions over conflict gold

The Perth Mint, owned by the West Australian government, may be stripped of its ethical gold accreditation by the world's largest precious metals exchange, after revelations that child labour and dangerous chemicals were used in its supply chain.

The London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) said it was taking "very seriously" issues about the Perth Mint raised by The Australian Financial Review, as it "maintains the highest standards for responsible sourcing".
