Eddie Obeid found guilty of conspiracy over $30m NSW coal licence

Eddie Obeid, the disgraced NSW Labor Party power broker, has been found guilty of conspiracy over the granting of a 2009 mining licence worth $30 million to his family and at the age of 77 is set to return to jail.
Obeid’s son Moses, 52, and former NSW Resources minister Ian Macdonald, 72, were found guilty on the same charge by Justice Elizabeth Fullerton in the NSW Supreme Court on Monday.
