New Hope clears final hurdle in 15-year coal mine battle

New Hope is on the brink of restarting the New Acland coal mine after clearing the final hurdle in a near 15-year approvals battle.

The company said on Thursday that the final piece in the approvals puzzle had fallen into place, with the Queensland government granting a water licence associated with New Acland stage 3 in the state’s Darling Downs region.
