Mining mutiny as Jupiter chairman and CEO ousted

Former BHP chief executive Brian Gilbertson has been dumped as chairman of Jupiter Mines in a shareholder uprising that also claimed chief executive Priyank Thapliyal and could trigger a consolidation of the manganese mining industry in South Africa.
Mr Gilbertson was forced to reapply for his position on Wednesday after more than 86 per cent of shareholders voted to spill the board on July 30.
